Under the guidance of a CIT coordinator, teens learn the skills needed to become a camp counselor. Participants will learn theories of child development, how to plan age appropriate activities and all other skills needed to become a competent counselor. The program offers cource Levels I through III. Each program level includes 3 combined weeks of field work and class time. Weeks do not have to be consecutive. Levels II & III are designed to give more field experience and instructional work. Participants will receive 2 staff shirts and a name tag in this program. CITs may attend Early/Late programs for free if they assist staff supervising the program. CITs will receive a certificate of recognition for each level they complete. Participants in this camp are not guaranteed future camp employment at Gold’s Gym Summer Camp.
